I love it! I can’t help but think about the Seinfeld episode where he makes fun of people who have ponies and causes a family uproar. What a sweet photo to have!

Thanks. After doing a bit of research, it turns out that there was a photographer in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of Philadelphia that frequently used ponies with his portraits of children. I have three different pictures from the same place but each is of a different person and decade. Pretty cool stuff…you can even see the same iron flowers on the bars in the background.

I love these horsey Photographs. I often wonder if it was a specific photographer who was known for using the horses or if it was just popular during that time. All of the pictures that I have like this are for people living in or around the Strawberry mansion section of North Philadelphia.
